Police Log: Woman Crashes Car, Believed Driver-less Car Would Cut Her Off

Have you ever swerved to avoid an unoccupied parked car that might cut you off?

Police said a woman drove her car off the road Friday evening while taking a turn on Country Club Road and hit a rock and a tree in the front yard of a home.

The driver told police that she thought a parked car was going to pull out in front of her, so she swerved to avoid it. The parked car was unoccupied at the time, police stated. The woman's car suffered heavy front-end damage, but she was not injured.

Dedham Police arrested 24-year-old Steven Vega, of Jamaica Plain, and charged him with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

Police were called to Thomas Street on Tuesday after witnesses said they saw several cars approach two suspicious males and conducted quick conversations, according to reports.

Police arrested Vega when they arrived after they learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Police searched a car Vega said belonged to his girlfirend and found 10 small bags of marijuana, according to police reports.

Who's Driving Your Truck Then?

Dedham Police are seeking a complaint against an unidentified driver who fled police Thursday morning.

Police said a driver of a 2002 white Ford truck sped out of Veterans Road and through a neighborhood Thursday after spotting a tow truck driver sent to repossess the truck.

The tow truck driver told police that he had tried earlier Thursday to take the car in Milton, but the driver hit him in his arm with the car and fled, according to a police report.

Police called the owner of the truck, who allegedly hit the tow truck driver, and he denied visiting Dedham and refused to come to the police department, according to police.

Dedham Police are seeking a complaint against the owner of the truck foroperating to endanger and disorderly conduct.

Monday, Oct. 3

  • At 11:38 a.m., police arrested Denise Daly, 55 of Dedham, and charged her with disturbing the peace.

Sunday, Oct. 2

  • At 12:30 a.m., police broke up a college party on lower East Street. Residents told police that they had invited 10 people over for a party, but more than 50 univited guests showed up.

Saturday, Oct. 1

  • At 3:51 p.m., police arrested 27-year-old Jeramie Croft, of Boston, on charges of domestic assault at .
  • At 10:04 p.m., Dedham Police arrested 22-year-old Anthony Johnson, of Dehdam, at his home and charged him with domestic assault and assault on a police officer. No other information was released.
