Police Log: Two Sent to Hospital After West St. Car Accident

Two Hospitalized After Car Accident

An 11-year-old girl and an adult driver were transported to the hospital after an accident Monday on West Street. The two-car accident shut down traffic going onto the on-ramp to Rte. 128, and emergency personnel had to use hydraulic resuce tools to remove the passengers, according to police reports.

Sunday, Aug. 28

  • At 1:15 a.m., police arrested 32-year-old Miguel Pina, of Dorchester, for allegedly driving drunk on River Street in Dedham. Pina posted the $40 bail, accoridng to police.

  • At 10:37 a.m., a woman who lives on Karen Pines reported that over the last two weeks, $15,000-$20,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from her home.
  • At 12:07 p.m., a caller reported two cars drove over their Oak Street lawn, causing malicious damage.
  • At 12:45 p.m., police received a report of a stolen bicycle valued at $699 on Milton Street.
  • At 1:39 p.m., two women were allegedly caught shoplifting from . The store will seek their own complaint, police reported.
  • At 2:34 p.m., police arrested Hyde Park resident Shawannika Jones, 30, for allegedly shoplifting from Family Dollar on Bussey Street.
