Police Log: Tires Slashed in 2 Incidents, Friend Allegedly Steals Laptop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Dedham Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. 

June 6

  • At 11:07 a.m., a caller reported to police that their car tires were slashed while parked on Coronation Drive.
  • At 1:52 p.m., a caller reported that his laptop was stolen from his home on Parkway Court, and he suspected a friend who he invited in for lunch. The victim told police that 25-year-old Laura Hamaty, of Hyde Park, went into the man's bedroom, stole the computer and fled out of a backdoor, according to reports. Hamaty was later arrested at her Hyde Park apartment and charged with larceny over $250, but the laptop was not recovered, police stated.
  • At 2:24 p.m., police reported an attempted breaking and entering on Doggett Circle.
  • At 8:37 p.m., a caller told police that someone had stolen flowers they planted at a grave site at

  • At 1:45 a.m., police reported that a car parked on Ashcroft Street had all four tires slashed.
  • At 6:50 p.m., a store employee told police that a shoplifter fled the store with a stolen T-shirt. Police were able to take down the license plate, but have not made an arrest.
  • At 8:08 p.m., a caller reported their purse was stolen while waiting for their car to be serviced at .
  • At 8:22 p.m., a Curve Street resident told police that someone had broken into their home and stolen a laptop computer.
