Police Log: Stolen Crab Legs and Ice Blamed for Crash

The following is an excerpt from the Dedham Police Department log from March 2-3. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.

Saturday, March 3

  • At 7:12 a.m., police arrested 21-year-old Mario Lopez, of Waltham, on charges of domestic assault. 
  • At 10:28 a.m., an East Street resident reported that someone stole three tires off her 2009 Honda Accord, and had put the car up on cement blocks. A fourth tire was leaning and about to fall off, police reported. 
  • At 2 p.m., police responded to for a report of stolen shrimp and a bag of crab legs that totaled about $110. A suspect fled in a Chevrolet pick-up truck.

Friday, March 2

  • At 8:36 a.m., police responded to a car accident on Legacy Boulevard. Police stated a 2008 Toyota Corolla driven by Lucas Da Silva, 27 of Brighton, crossed a double-solid yellow line and hit a 2006 Mazda. Da Silva told police that he hit a patch of ice and slid across the line, according to police reports. Police stated that a search found that Da Silva doesn't have a valid driver's license, and he was cited by police. A female driver of the Mazda was taken to the hopsital for a report of leg pain.
  • At 9:25 a.m., police responded to the intersection of High and Bridge streets for another car accident. No injuries were reported.
