Police Log: Shoplifting, iPhone Stolen at Avery School

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indiciate a conviction.

 

Monday, June 25

iPhone Stolen (1:23 a.m.) - Police received a report from a citizen that their iPhone 4 was stolen while he was playing basketball at the new Avery School. The phone was reportedly taken by two males between the ages of 15 and 17 years of age, who allegedly ran toward East Dedham, according to reports.

Sunday, June 24

Vehicle Break (10:43 p.m.) - Police received a report of a vehicle having been broken into sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday. An unknown amount of loose change was taken from the vehicle, which was unlocked at the time, according to police.

Saturday, June 23

Arrested for Shoplifting (2:23 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a 24-year-old woman from Mattapan on Saturday for shoplifting by concealing merchandise on Bussey Street. 

Friday, June 22

Suspicious Male Near (8:05 a.m.) - Dedham Police received a report of a suspicious male spotted by three youths near the Greenlodge School. The youths claimed that, while walking by the front doors of the school around 7:30 p.m., a male party in his mid-30s drove up to them and asked if they would like to dog sit for him. The vehicle then allegedly exited the school parking lot before turning around and approaching the youths once again before leaving. 

Thursday, June 21

Copper Piping Stolen (10:48 a.m.) - Police received a report of stolen copper piping from a building that was allegedly being torn down. Upon arrival to the building, police found that while the pip was still intact inside the building, a portion of the pipe that was hooked up to the water system had been cut. A similar incident of stolen copper piping was reported in Westwood.
