Police Log: Providence Highway Hit-and-Run, Avery School Construction Vehicle Damaged

Providence Highway Hit and Run

The driver of a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder was injured and the car suffered front-end damage Friday morning when a green car with taxi markings on it hit the Pathfinder on the rear passenger side.

The green car sped off toward Boston, police said. The pathfinder jumped the curb near Ocean State Job Lot, blowing out the front passenger tire.

Damaged Loader at Avery Site

Construction crews at the new Avery Elementary School worksite reported Friday morning that someone smashed the emergency window of a front-end loader.

Swiped Canoe

A resident reported to police on Thursday that someone stole a 14-foot orange Coleman canoe from the backyard of his home. 

Napster Account Fraud Fails

A Dedham resident reported to police Sunday that someone had tried to use his credit card number to open a Napster music account online, but was denied. The police fraud department will investigate, police said. No other unusual activity was reported.
