Miranda Read Miranda Rights After Alleged OUI

A Marstons Mill woman was arrested for operating under the influence after she allegedly crashed her car at about 10 p.m. Monday on Rustcraft Road.

Police arrested Mika R. Miranda, 32, after she failed all three sobriety tests on scene, including saying the alphabet.

According to police, Miranda was driving a Mazda sedan on Rustcraft Road when she crossed the centerline, hit two trees on the opposite side of the road and came to rest against a recycling bin. Her vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage, police said.

Police allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol on Miranda’s breath before conducting the tests. A passenger in the vehicle was transported with injuries.

Shoplifting

A Mattapan man was arrested for shoplifting from at the Dedham Mall at about 3 p.m. Monday.

Adam O. Peguero, 18, was taken into custody after police said he stole a shirt worth $36.

Peguero refused to comply with store personnel and then police, according to police.
