Police Log: Lights Out on Providence Highway, Arrests Made in Sears Thefts

Thursday, March 8

  • At 3:47 p.m., police arrested Nelcy LaClair, 21 of Roslindale, for allegedly shoplifting more than $250 worth of merchandise from Sears.
  • At 9:53 p.m., a transformer went out of service, causing a blackout on Providence Highway in and around Dedham Plaza, including a street light.

Wednesday, March 7

  • At 1:53 p.m., an employee at reported a robbery. The employee was able to provided police with a description of the suspect.
  • At 6:12 p.m., police received a report of a dog hit by a car on Greenlodge Street.

Tuesday, March 6

  • At 8:04 a.m., police received a report of stolen tools from an unlocked toolbox on the back of a pick-up truck parked on Hazelnut Place.
  • At 2:49 p.m., a caller reported their car was "keyed" while parked on Common Street.
  • At 5:25 p.m., police were called to for a report of a shoplifter. Officers arrested 33-year-old Siobhan Woodcock, 33 of Boston, and charged her with larceny of more than $250.

Monday, March 5

  • At 11:23 a.m., police arrested Yuriy Onyskiv, 47 of Roslindale, on charges of domestic assault.
  • At 12:54 p.m., a resident report a stolen Cadillac Escalade from Greenlodge Street, which was recovered three hours later with damage that wasn't previously there.
  • At 1:19 p.m., an East Street resident reported that a car ran into his home's fence, and then fled.
