Police Log: Injured Ducks on Rustcraft Road, Shoplifters Charged

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, Feb. 10

At 5:42 p.m., police responded to a business on Providence Highway after receiving a report of a shoplifter, described as being a 50-year-old male who wore his hair pull back and wearing a green jacket fled with merchandise.

At 6:38 p.m., place charged a 29-year-old Dedham man with shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Police responded to Sears after receiving the report and were able to locate the man who allegedly fled the scene, and upon a pat-down found a needle in his right front pocket that was disposed of by officers. Officers also found the man to have had two bottles of Playboy VIP cologne.

Wednesday, Feb. 12

At 4:15 p.m., police responded to the Dedham Mall on a report of three females walking out of IHOP without paying their bill. Upon locating the individuals, the here women told police they would return to the restaurant and pay the bill. 

At 6:51 p.m., police arrested a 24-year-old Dedham man for uttering a false check on High Street. 

Thursday, Feb. 13

At 1:21 p.m., police responded to Rustcraft Road on a report of property damage after a pickup truck allegedly drove over three to four small tress at the edge of a driveway on the street. 

Friday, Feb. 14

At 8:18 a.m., the Dedham Animal Control Officer responded to a report of two injured ducks in a snow bank in the area of Rustcraft Road. The officer was unable to locate the ducks. 

Saturday, Feb. 15

At 11:17 a.m., police received a report of a shoplifter at Sears, described as a white male with an approximate age of 35 years, and wearing a black jacket, green hoodie and fled the store with jeans and tools. 

Sunday, Feb. 16

At 6:53 a.m., police received a report of a knocked over fire hydrant in the area of East Street. Officers notified the Dedham Westwood Water Department. 

At 7:35 p.m., police were traveling on Milton Street when they observed a Jamaica Plain man and another male individual walking out of the Four Corners Citgo parking lot. Officers then arrested the a 20-year-old Jamaica Plain man on a warrant.
