Police Log: Gas Leak on Cedar Street; Graffiti Vandals Strike

The following is an excerpt from the Dedham Police Department log from Dec. 12-14. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.

Monday, Dec. 12

  • At 8:16 a.m., police arrested Pablo Cradock, 34 of Dedham, and charged with with assault and witness intimidation.
  • At 12:44 p.m., police responded to a report of graffiti on a building on Whiting Avenue.
  • At 12:59 p.m., a caller reported being spit on while grocery shopping at an unnamed store on Providence Highway.
  • At around 2 p.m., police fielded three complaints on graffiti on vehicles. Two of the cars were parked on Oscars Way and the other on Plain Street.
  • At 6:11 p.m., police and fire officials responded to East Street for a transformer explosion.
  • At 11:03 p.m., a River Street resident reported somone broke into his house and stole a wallet.

Tuesday, Dec. 13

  • At 12:50 a.m., a caller reported a graffiti on a stop sign on Oak Street.
  • At 8:24 a.m., police arrested an unidentified person at on charges of assault.
  • At 3:13 p.m., police responded to Highland Avenue after a caller suspected a neighbor of loading a shotgun. When police arrived, they found the neighbor using a chainsaw.
  • At 8 p.m., a caller reported a driver traveling southbound on Providence Highway in the northbound way. Police couldn't locate the vehicle, and notified the Westwood Police Department.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

  • At 8:15 a.m., fire crews and NStar officials responded to Cedar Street for a report of a gas leak. A man backed into a gas meter, causing an outside leak. officials said the leak didn't enter the man's home and didn't pose any danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • At 7:03 p.m., police arrested 18-year-old Rashawna Williams, of Hyde Park, on charges of shoplifting, providing a false name to police and assault. Police stated Williams allegedly stole shoes from , and when confronted by an employee in the parking lot, Williams allegedly punched the employee.
  • At 8:09 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old Mattapan teen on charges of larceny over $250. The teen allegedly tried to steal nearly $1,000 worth of jewlery and clothing from an unnamed store at the Dedham Mall.
