Police Log: Cops Investigating Dead Body on Ames Street

Dedham Man Denies Driving, Slapped With OUI

arrested 38-year-old Tracy George, of Dedham, Sunday evening for allegedly driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle drunk and crashing at the intersection of Milton and Walnut streets.

George concealed a piece of brake light that broke off from the crash, hid his motorcycle helmet from police, and initially denied driving it, according to police reports.

Officer John Barrett stated in his report that George noticeably smelled like alcohol during an interview at the crash site.

EMS crews treated George for an abrasion on his right hand that he could not explain, and George had keys to the motorcycle in his pocket, police stated.

George was charged with operating under the influence.

Police Investigating Death

, along with State Police, are investigating the death of an unidentified person found on the side of the road at the intersection of Bridge and Ames street Saturday morning.

Police are releasing few details on what they are calling a "sudden death," but officers said the death was thought to be medical and not suspicious. 

Cans Stolen From St. Mary's Returned

A woman who police say stole several cases of empty cans and bottles from on Wednesday returned them and "apologized profusely" for the theft.

The woman, whose name police are withholding, told officers she didn't realize the cans were donated to the church. She told police that she believed the cans were being thrown out with the trash.

Officers noted the cases could be mistaken for garbage and were not in a shed or enclosure. 

Driver in Creek Accident Lost Brakes, Steering

The driver in that sent three to the hospital later told police that he lost control of his steering and brakes before crashing into a brook between the and on Eastern Avenue.

The man, whose name police didn't release, stated he hit large pothole on an access road that connects Eastern Avenue to . 

The three occupants were not seriously injured in the crash, and airbgas didn't deploy, police said at the scene.
