Police Log: Copper, iPad Thieves Strike Dedham

An excerpt from the Dedham Police Department's April 7 police log.

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

April 8

  • At 8:08 a.m., a Milton Street business reported that someone broke into one of their trucks and stole $1,000 worth of copper pipes.

  • At 1:29 p.m., Larry Smith, 42 of Dedham, was arrested at his home and charged with violating an abuse prevention order and domestic assault.

  • At 7:03 p.m., an Eaton Road resident reported to police that someone broke into his shed and stole power tools worth an unspecified value.

  • At 7:54 p.m., an employee of an unspecified Providence Highway business reported to police that a man fled the store with an Apple iPad without paying for it. The employee gave a description to authorities, but police did not locate the suspect.
