Police Log: Car Falls Over Sidewalk on Milton St.

Car Crashes Just Outside Milton Street Condo

The driver of a 2011 Honda crashed over a sidewalk Saturday morning and fell about 10 feet in front of a condo on Milton Street.

According to a police report, the driver swerved to the left when the car in front of him stopped suddenly. The Honda slammed into a rod iron fence, but the driver was able to escape the car on his own.

The driver was taken to the hospital, police said.

Tractor-Trailer Crashes into Costco Sign

A tractor-trailer crashed into a sign for Costco Saturday afternoon as he tried to turn down Legacy Boulevard, according to a witness statement to police.

The right wheels of the tailer went onto a curb and the right side of the truck smashed into the sign, leaving tracks through a landscaped island.

Providence Highway northbound was closed for a short period of time while officers cleared the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for a marked lanes violation, according to police.

Cardiac Arrest Causes Accident, 'Rubber Necking' Another

A driver on Providence Highway suffered a cardiac emergency and stopped short, causing a second car to hit him from behind, according to police.

Only minor damage to both vehicles was reported, and the driver of the first car was taken by ambulance to the hospital, police stated.

While police responded to that accident, a 2011 Honda Accord and a 2010 Toyota Corolla collided. The driver of the Corolla told police that she had seen the other driver through her rear-view mirror looking at the first crash, according to police reports.

Neither driver of the second crash reported injuries at the scene.

Hit-and-Run on Chickering Road

The owner of a 2007 Cadillac reported to police that his car was hit while it was parked outside his mother's house on Chickering Road Sunday afternoon, according to a police report.

The car's owner said he noticed damage to the passenger side of his car at 4 p.m.

Police stated that light blue paint was found where the Cadillac suffered damage.
