Police Log: Attempted Baby Formula Theft Leads to One Arrest

Dedham Woman Arrested for OUI Second Offense

1:40 p.m. – arrested a Boathouse Lane resident for a second offense of operating under the influence of liquor.

Mary Jane MacLean, 62, of 20 Boathouse Ln. in Dedham, was arrested when police responded to the road after receiving a report of a stuck vehicle.

Upon arrival, police detected a strong odor of liquor in the presence of MacLean, who told police she’d been drinking when she drove off the road, according to reports.

Dorchester Man Arrested for Larceny

8:18 p.m. – Dedham Police arrested a Dorchester man on charges of Larceny over $250 after he allegedly attempted to steal baby formula.

Anthony Silva, 35, of 7 Victory Rd. in Dorchester, was arrested on the charges for attempting to steal about 20 cans of baby formula from a business in Dedham Plaza Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, a white male was seen fleeing from the business with a bag, which Silva dropped while fleeing. The bag was determined to contain the baby formula, which was returned to the business.

Police obtained a description of the vehicle Silva fled in, and while on patrol Saturday evening, discovered the vehicle parked on High Street believed to be involved in the larceny. Police then located Silva in a residence on High Street and subsequently arrested him on the aforementioned charges.
