Police Log: Arrests Made at Dedham Mall, King's

The following information was supplied by the Dedham Police Department for the week of May 28-June 5. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Tuesday, June 5

Suspicious Bike Rider (12:22 a.m.) - A motorist on Bussey Street reported to Dedham Police that an older man on a bicycle wearing a red jacket was trying to enter various businesses in the area. Police located the man, who stated that he was looking for cigarettes.

Medfield Man Arrested (6:15 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a 24-year-old Medfield man on an outstanding warrant.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered (12:27 p.m.) - Police received a report of a recovered vehicle in Roslindale that had been stolen in April. 

Norwood Man Arrested (11:49 a.m.) - Police arrested a 41-year-old Norwood man for assault. 

 

Saturday, June 2

Man Arrested at King's Dedham (2:53 a.m.) - Police arrested a 28-year-old Roslindale man for driving with a suspended license and for giving a false name and address to police, as well as for having three outstanding warrants.

 

Friday, June 1

Car Blaze After Crash (2:29 a.m.) - Dedham Police responded to a car accident on Providence Highway after a vehicle exiting Harris Street drove off the road, jumping the curb and entering the median before striking a traffic signal pole and utility pole. The vehicle then caught fire and the Dedham Fire Department arrived to extinguish the blaze. The operator was pulled from the vehicle by bystanders and was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

 

Thursday, May 31

Hyde Park Man Arrested (9:10 a.m.) - Police arrested a 39-year-old Hyde Park man driving with a suspended license. The driver was pulled over after he was spotted driving over the speed limit in a school zone.

 

Wednesday, May 30

Nissan Damaged (3:38 p.m.) - A Dedham resident reported that her 2010 Nissan Pathfinder had been damaged on Sunday, May 27, after she parked the vehicle, returning to it to find what appeared to be a key scratch to the entire left side. 

Mattapan Woman Arrested for Shoplifting (3:10 p.m.) - Westwood Police responded to the Dedham Mall on a report of shoplifting in the area, and subsequently arrested a 48-year-old Mattapan woman for larceny over $250.

Weymouth Man Arrested (11:46 a.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a 33-year-old Weymouth man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

 

Tuesday, May 29

Stolen Vehicle Found (8:56 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a Walpole man after a LoJack sensor indicated a reported stolen vehicle had been close by. Upon following the LoJack signal, police found and arrested a 21-year-old male from Walpole for driving a motor vehicle without authority. The vehicle in question was a black Toyota Tundra bearing Massachusetts plates, and was found at a nearby Citgo gas station on Milton Street.

Dartmouth Man Arrested on Warrants (2:44 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a 50-year-old man from Dartmouth on two outstanding warrants.
