Police Log: An OUI Arrest, Robbery Near Legacy Place and a Tablet Stolen

Sunday, June 17

Vehicle Damaged During Hit-and-Run (8:19 p.m.) - Dedham Police responded to the Bridge Street area after receiving a report of a hit-and-run accident. A patron of a restaurant on the road told police that several people informed him that his vehicle had been hit by another in the parking lot before driving off.

Dedham Man Arrested for OUI (2:22 a.m.) - Dedham Police arrested a 24-year-old local man for driving under the influence of liquor (second offense), leaving the scene of property damage and failing to stop for police.  

Arlington Man Indulges in Lewd Behavior (2:22 p.m.) - Police arrested a 68-year-old Arlington man on Providence Highway for lewdness after a female party reported to police that someone was acting inappropriately while sitting alone in his car.

Friday, June 15

Police on Lookout for Shoplifting Suspects (1:38 p.m.) - Dedham Police were on the look out for two suspects allegedly involved in shoplifting at the Roche Bros. store in West Roxbury.

Fake FBI Agent Attemps Phone Scam (11:19 a.m.) - Police received a report from a local resident who claimed she had been receiving suspicious phone calls from someone identifying themselves as a detective from the FBI. The caller reportedly asked the resident questions about her neighbor and asked the person to contact that neighbor so he could speak with her regarding a sweepstakes. The neighbor and the FBI both explained to the resident that the call was in fact a scam, and advised her not to speak with the party when receiving a call.

 

Thursday, June 12 

One Robbed Near Legacy Place (4:18 p.m.) - Dedham Police received reports from Boston Police regarding an armed robbery with a handgun near Legacy Place. One person was struck with a handgun, and about $300 in cash was removed from the person, as well as a cell phone. The suspects fled the scene, according to reports. 

Monday, June 11

Samsung Tablet Stolen from Car (6:22 p.m.) - Police responded to Providence Highway after receiving a report of a vehicle that had been broken into. Upon arrival police determined that the passenger side window of the vehicle, a 2012 Subaru Impresza, had been smashed. The owner reported that a Samsung Galaxy I-957 tablet computer, valued at about $580, was taken from the vehicle.
