Police Log: A Urinating Man and a Tough Breakup Made Tougher

The following is a sampling from the Dedham Police Department log from May 21-29.

The following are based on reports from the  log.  Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.

May 25

A man was placed under arrest on Pine Street at 11:16 p.m. after a Dedham officer, on patrol, found him urinating on the street. The man told the officer to "wait" until he finished his business when the officer approached him and was stumbling and muttering when he was ready to chat upon finishing up.

May 23

A man came into the Dedham Police Department at 3:02 p.m. to report that his car had been keyed at . He had been in court, according to the report, for a restraining order hearing in which his ex-girlfriend had been the plaintiff. The order was vacated, he told police, and when he stepped outside his car's door had fresh scrape marks. The man believed his ex-girlfriend, whose car had been parked near his in the morning, caused those scrapes on her way out of the courthouse.
