UPDATED: October Snow Storm Brings Damage, Outages to Dedham

More than 1,100 residents were still without power Sunday morning after the early-season winter storm Saturday night.

Halloween may be coming on Monday, but the snowfall left by Saturday night's winter storm - one that prompted Gov. Deval Patrick to declare a State of Emergency - created more of a winter landscape around the state Sunday morning, including Dedham.

But despite the scenery, a number of downed tree limbs were reported in town over night. And as of 8 a.m. Sunday, NSTAR reported that 1,157 customers were still without power in Dedham (about 10 percent of NSTAR's customer base in town).

Update, 3:12 p.m. - As of noontime Sunday, NSTAR's number of residents in Dedham without power increased to 1,201. To see town-by-town outages, click here.

As of noontime Sunday, the Dedham Fire Department did not have many reports of motor vehicle accidents related to the storm.

There were, however, numerous reports of downed tree limbs and wires, such as in the Riverdale area near Massachusetts Avenue.

The Dedham Department of Public Works had not responded to calls from Dedham Patch as of 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dedham Patch will provide storm-related updates as information becomes available.
