Leaking Car Coolant Leads Cops to Suspected OUI Driver

Police followed a trail of leaking fluid from the scene of a hit-and-run accident on Central Avenue to a house on Smith Circle.

This trail didn't go cold.

followed a path of what they believed to be engine coolant for 1 1/2 miles from Central Avenue to a home on Smith Circle on Wednesday, Aug. 17, reports stated.

Kaitlyn Crowley, 21 of Dedham, hit a fence on a Central Avenue rotary, and then took off, witnesses told police.

When police arrived at Crowley's Smith Circle home, they administered a field sobriety test, which she allegedly failed, according to police. Information on what spurred police to give the sobriety test was not provided by police.

Police stated the trail of leaking fluid led to Crowley's car, which was parked in her driveway. Police also found front-end damage to Crowley's car, according to reports.

Crowley was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and operating under the influence. She was released on $40 bail.
