Humble Chief Takes Police Reins

Michael d'Entremont was sworn in as Dedham's newest police chief at a ceremony Tuesday night.

With an obvious humility to him, Michael d'Entremont officially took the reins of the Dedham Police Department in a ceremony full of former and current police officers, his family and town officials.

D'Entremont, a Dedham High School graduate and 15-year veteran of the force, becomes the town's 11th police chief.

He took over as head of the department in January when then-Chief Michael Weir fell ill. The Board of Selectmen unanimously confirmed d'Entremont as chief at a meeting in September.
