Dedham Residents Charged With Heroin, Cocaine Trafficking in Braintree

The man and woman from Dedham were allegedly dealing drugs near the South Shore Plaza in Braintree.

An undercover drug sting by local police has led to the indictments of a 34-year-old man and 29-year-old woman from Dedham after they allegedly sold heroin and cocaine to officers at the in Braintree.

The investigation by Braintree and Dedham police culminated in the arrest of Luz Cepeda and Aris Veras, both of 3000 Presidents Way, Apt. 3217 in Dedham, back in March after one of the alleged drug transactions, according to a press release from the Office of Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey.

Both Cepeda and Veras were indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury on May 16 and Veras pled not guilty at his Superior Court arraignment on Thursday. He was was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 2.

Cepeda, meanwhile, has defaulted on her charges in both Quincy District Court and Superior Court and there is a "warrant out for her arrest and she is being sought by authorities," according to the release.

The charges against the Dedham residents are based on alleged hand-to-hand drug transactions of cocaine and heroin, and also on searches of their apartment in Dedham and a vehicle they allegedly used.

“This case is the result of strong professional police work and good cooperation between these departments,” Morrissey said, “These are serious indictments and they will be prosecuted accordingly.”

Reminds me of the peanut farmers reign in 1980 when Castro released all the prison derelicts to terrorize Miami and the rest of the USA. What was the deal between Menino and the Dedham selectman? And what was their personal profit?
