Dedham Police Say Victim Transported to Hospital With Injuries

Dedham police said the 32-year-old female victim in Friday’s shooting is suffering from non life threatening injuries after her vehicle was shot at on Providence Highway near the Dedham/Boston line.

At 4:38 p.m. Dedham Police Department received a 911 phone call and a citizen walk in at the police station reporting that an individual in a vehicle had been shot.  The vehicle was found to be stopped in front of 601 High Street in Dedham Square, Dedham Police Chief Michael d'Entremont said in a written statement. 

D'Entremont said EMS found a 32 year old female in the vehicle to be suffering from non-life threatening injuries.  She was transported to a hospital for further treatment, d'Entremont said.   

Police said the victim's vehicle showed signs of being struck by gun fire.

Dedham, Boston and Massachusetts State Police Officers responded to the Dedham/Boston line and secured the area to be processed as a crime scene.

The Massachusetts State Police have assumed jurisdiction in this investigation.  

Chief d'Entremont said the  incident is still currently under  investigation.

The Boston Police Department made an entry at a house in Roslindale connected to the shooting in Dedham, according to a photograph on Twitter.

During the search, South Street near Walter in Roslindale was shut down, and the suspect's car from the Dedham shooting found there, according to a Tweet from UniversalHub.
