Dedham Police Logs: Vehicles Broken Into, Man Arrested for Assault

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

 

Thursday, July 12

GPS and Phone Charger Stolen from Car (9:12 a.m.) - Police received a call of a motor vehicle entered at an address on Hazelnut Pl. Larceny of GPS and phone charger reported. Police filed a report.

Malicious Damage to Vehicles (10:33 a.m. and 4:23 p.m.) - Malicious damage to two vehicles on Colburn St. was reported to the police. One vehicle's tires were slashed and the air was let out of a second. Another incident was reported later in the day with vehicles' tires slashed on Whitehall St. Police filed reports on the incidents.

$600 Bicycle Stolen (4:50 p.m.) - A blue men's 14-speed bicycle was stolen from property on Walnut St. Police filed a report.

Friday, July 13

Hyde Park Man Arrested After Failing to Stop for Police (11:29 a.m.) - Police attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Cedar St. for speeding. According to police the vehicle failed to stop, and drove a short distance before a male party exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspect, a 23-year-old Hyde Park man, was arrested for failing to stop for police and operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon (3:55 p.m.) - Police received a 911 call from an address on Hooper Rd. There was no answer after several callbacks from police. When officers arrived, a female reported she was assaulted by a male party who fled on foot prior to the officers' arrival. The suspect, a 48-year-old Dedham man, was located and taken into custody at Kensington and Durham roads.

Sunday, July 15

Vehicle Broken into on Route 1 (4:30 p.m.) - The passenger window of a vehicle at a location on Boston-Providence Highway was smashed and a backpack with school books and an iPhone 4s was taken. Police filed a report.
