Dedham Police Logs: Vehicle Break-ins, Shoplifting and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 24

(10:31 a.m.)  According to police reports, there was a shoplifter at a grocery store.  An employee told police that they saw the shopper picking up items and then left the store without paying for them.  The total amount of groceries taken was $29.64.  While identifying the shoplifter, police discovered a default warrant and placed her in handcuffs.

Thursday, Oct. 25

(2:45 p.m.)  Police responded to Legacy Boulevard because there were two women who attempted to shoplift, according to police reports.  The women were "belligerent and hostile" when confronted by store employees.  The police recommended that the staff trespass them from the store.

Saturday, Oct. 27

(10:10 p.m.)  According to police reports, a car was broken into at the Uno's parking lot.  The owner of the vehicle told police that his rear drivers side window was smashed and his black leather brief case was taken, which contained some personal paper work.

(10:59 p.m.) Police responded to a report of a break-in at Tahiti on Mah Way.  According to police reports, the owner parked the car on the Eastern Avenue side of Tahiti.  After two hours, the owner saw that the passenger window had been smashed.  According to reports, the owner left several shopping bags in the car and they were all taken. 

(11:12 p.m.) According to police reports, a car was broken into by the Chili's on Providence Highway.  The passenger side rear window was smashed.  The owner of the vehicle told police that the only thing that was missing was some cash.
