Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting, Man Gets Stuck in Swamp and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, June 17

(11:51 p.m.) Dedham Police responded to Quabish Road because there were reports of a suspicious person.  According to police, the man was intoxicated and was refusing to leave.  He later ran towards the swamp area and then police heard him yelling that he was stuck.  Dedham Fire assisted the man out of the swamp and then he was transported to Norwood Hospital for further evaluation.

Wednesday, June 18

(10:59 p.m.) A Bussey Street resident reported to police that one of her patio chairs was stolen.  A report was filed.

Thursday, June 19

(2:36 p.m.) According to reports, there was a shoplifter detained at a store in Legacy Place.  An employee explained to police that they observed a woman walking up and down the aisles while placing items in her purse.  When an employee confronted the woman, she threw the items out of her purse and ran out of the store.  But she also left her car keys behind.  Police were able to locate her vehicle and was able to identify the suspect.  Dedham Police will file a criminal complaint in Dedham District Court.

 

Sunday, June 22

(7:27 a.m.)  According to reports, two white men walked into a store at the Dedham Mall and walked out with $185 worth of merchandise.  As they walked away from the store they were stopped by Dedham Police and advised that they would receive a summons.  They were also no longer welcomed in the store.
