Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting, Malicious Damage and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, July 9
(7:52 a.m.) A caller reported to police that someone stole cash from their drawer.  A report was filed.

(5:00 p.m.) A truck was keyed while parked on High Street. A report was filed.

(6:00 p.m.) Police responded to the Legacy Place parking lot because there were report about a dog overheating in a car with the windows up.  The owner was spoken to and asked not to leave the dog in a locked car with the windows closed during a heat wave.

(6:26 p.m.)  A caller reported to police that they heard an explosion.  Police later confirmed that it was a transformer on Fulton Street that made the noise. NSTAR was notified.

Wednesday, July 10
(4:38 p.m.) A 60-year-old woman and 70-year-old woman were shoplifting at a store in Legacy Place, but were gone when police arrived.  A report was filed.
