Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting, Counterfeit Money and Road Rage

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday- April 29, 2013

Hit and Run- 11:48 a.m.

Common Street- Report of a hit and run accident.

Larceny- 2:50 p.m.

Providence Highway- Report of a larceny of a bicycle. A black male was looking at bikes in the back of the store. An employee stated that the male proceeded with a bike and bike lock and leave out the front door without paying. An employee yelled at the male and exited the store but was unable to catch up. The bike was valued at $190 and the lock was valued at $40.

Shoplifting- 5:10 p.m.

Providence Highway- Report of two female shoplifters at the Dedham Mall. Monique Dunn, 45, was accused of allegedly taking two t-shirts valued at $60. Dunn allegedly admitted to an officer that she stole one shirt and was placed under arrest. Mary McGarty, 50, was also arrested in the incident.

 

Tuesday- April 30, 2013

Motor Vehicle Accident- 9:48 a.m.

High Street- A vehicle was stopped at the intersection of High Street and O'Neill Drive. The vehicle was then rear ended. Injury reported.

Identity Theft- 2:19 p.m.

Party came into the station to report identity theft. Unauthorized charges in 2009 and 2010.

Larceny- 5:19 p.m.

Eastern Avenue- Report of counterfeit money. Surveillance video shows a male making a purchase with a $100 bill. The bill was later found to be fake.

Road Rage- 5:41 p.m.

Providence Highway- Party reported that someone threw a lit cigarette into his vehicle.

 

Wednesday- May 1, 2013

Warrant Arrest- 1:38 p.m.

Bussey Street- Dominic Torre, 54, was arrested on an alleged outstanding warrant.

 

Thursday- May 2, 2013

Recovered Property-9:39 a.m.

Officer responded to a business to recover a laptop computer. The laptop had no identifying marks or labels that would help find its owner.

Road Rage- 4:09 p.m.

Eastern Avenue- Report of road rage. Verbal argument.

 

Friday- May 3, 2013

Larceny- 1:10 p.m.

Providence Highway- Report of larceny from a business on Route 1.

Shoplifting- 6:06 p.m.

Providence Highway- Report of a shoplifter from a business on Route 1.

Shoplifting Arrest- 8:02 p.m.

Providence Highway- Report of a shoplifter at the Dedham Mall. Loss prevention reported seeing a woman concealing several clothing items. Michelle Lugo-Espinosa, 28, was arrested for alleged shoplifting. She is accused of stealing clothing, shoes, a Polo hat and a dress valued at $178.98.

Stolen Property- 10:16 p.m.

Legacy Place- Woman reported that her purse was stolen at Legacy Place. She said that she and her group of friends got up to leave and her purse was not on the back of the chair.

 

Saturday- May 4, 2013

Stolen Bicycle- 6:04 p.m.

Washington Street- Report of a stolen bicycle. Woman reported that a bicycle was stolen behind her residence. Report taken.

Shoplifting- 6:38 p.m.

Providence Highway- Loss prevention reported at shoplifter at the Dedham Mall. Female was in custody for allegedly stealing $1081 worth of children's and woman's clothing hidden in her backpack and her three-year-old child's backpack.
