Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting at the Dedham Mall, Vehicle Break-ins and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, June 25
(10:10 p.m.) According to reports, there were two female shoplifters fleeing Sears in the Dedham Mall.  Police spoke with the Sears Loss Prevention employee from.  The employee told police that they observed the women conceal about 15 items into their purses.  As the women drove away in their car, an employee was able to get their registration number.  Police were able to get a picture of the driver and the employees confirmed the identity so a hearing will be scheduled.

Wednesday, June 26
(12:20 p.m.) A car was broken into on Court Street around 11:30 a.m.  About $350 worth of items were taken out from the front passenger side seat.  A report was filed.

Thursday, June 27
(5:21 p.m.) A car was broke into at the parking lot of the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex, according to reports.  The owner's GPS and purse were the only items that were taken.  A report was filed.

(10:14 p.m.)  There was a report of a female shoplifter at Sears in the Dedham Mall.  According to reports, the woman was seen taking several items and then going into the dressing room.  However, when she left the room- the items were gone.  The woman was later detained and police discovered $278.98 worth of items in her purse.  She was placed under arrest and sent to the police station for booking.
