Dedham Police Log: Bank Account Fraud, Shoplifting and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, Aug. 5
(10:39 a.m.) Dedham Police responded to a call from Sears about a shoplifter.  According to reports, the suspect placed a shirt in his bag and then tried to walk out of the store without paying for it.  After searching his bag, police discovered that he also stole from TJ Maxx and had several credit cards under another name.  The man was then arrested by police.

(11:25 a.m.)  A man reported to police that his laptop was stolen from his car.  A report was filed.

(7:29 p.m.)  Police responded to Sovereign Bank on Washington Street because there was a woman who was trying to withdraw $4,800 from an account that wasn't hers.  The woman was then arrested by police.

Friday, Aug. 9
(6:26 a.m.)  Dedham Police arrived to the parking lot of the Holiday Inn because someone reported that parts of their car was stolen.  According to reports, the owner of the vehicle found it in the parking lot with two missing wheels.  A report was filed.
