Dedham Police Investigating Alleged Theft of Copper Rolls from Lowe's

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, June 23

At about 4:50 p.m., Dedham Police responded to Best Buy on a report of past shoplifting at the store. Loss Prevention revealed surveillance footage to officers regarding a Kenwood stereo that was taken from display, the male suspect allegedly placing it under his shirt. Officers were able to locate the address of the alleged suspect, responded there and found several three males sitting a vehicle there, who were initially uncooperative but then the alleged suspect told police he did in fact take the item and placed it inside his backpack. The suspect returned the item; all three were informed they were not longer allowed at Best Buy, or they could face trespassing charges.

At 10:20 a.m., police responded to Pine Street on a report of an accident. Officers spoke with the respect drivers of each vehicle involved. One of the drivers then got into his vehicle and began driving away as police were checking on information in regards to the accident. Police then followed the driver to his residents, and subsequently arrested Joseph T. Cunning, 51, of Waltham, for operating a vehicle with a revoked license, as well as a warrant.

At 12:50 p.m., police responded to Lowe's on Providence Highway on a report of larceny. Officers spoke with loss prevention staff, who claimed that two males entered the store and attempted to steal four rolls of copper at about 11:30 a.m. that day. One of the men reportedly tried to leave the store with two rolls of copper, a value of about $400. He was confronted by store employees and he then left the store. The second male left the store with two other rolls of copper also valued at $400. The matter is under investigation.

At 1:18 p.m., police charged Alejandro Arredondo, 51, of Malden for driving a vehicle with a suspended license and failure to use care starting/stopping/turning/backing up. 

Thursday, June 26

At 1:40 p.m., police responded to Stop and Shop on a report of a male suspect who allegedly left the store with a large amount of diapers. 

At 2:23 p.m., police responded to Stop and Shop on a report of a shoplifter being chased on foot by a store manager. Police arrested Cedric Privott, 32, of Dorchester, for shoplifting by asportation after loss prevention reported that he tried to take six boxes of Pampers diapers, valued at $35.99 each, and put them in his shopping cart before trying to leave the store. A manager then tried to stop him, when Privott allegedly ran out of the store and toward the parking lot. 

At 5:09 p.m., police charged Shawn Nichols, Jr., 22, for larceny of more than $250 by single scheme. 

Friday, June 27

At 10:20 a.m., police arrested Peter Koskinas, 39, of Dedham, on a warrant. 

Saturday, June 28

At 5:53 a.m., police arrested Lyette Fegan, 43, of Dedham, on a warrant.
