Dedham Man Charged With OUI, Hitting Norwood Police Car

Police said there were no injuries and minimal damage.

On Friday night, Norwood Police arrested Daniel Farnkoff, 82 of Dedham, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol after an officer reported Farnkoff struck his stopped police car.

According to Norwood Police, officer Eric Kascavitch was writing a citation on a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway in Norwood when the vehicle Farnkoff was operating struck the side mirror of officer Kascavitch's cruiser.

Further units responded and Farnkoff pulled the vehicle over.

"After on scene investigation he was placed under arrest. No injuries and minor damage to the vehicles," said police spokesman Kevin Grasso Tuesday morning.

Farnkoff was arrested on charges of OUI, liquor over .08 percent, as well as marked lanes violation and obstruction of an emergency vehicle.
