Dedham Man Busted for Stealing Dead Police Officer's Gun

All of the items were later recovered.

Waltham Police on Sept. 26 arrested a Dedham man for allegedly stealing a gun belonging to a deceased former Waltham Police officer, according to Waltham Police. 


Connor Burke, 19, of Dedham, is facing charges for larceny of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license and larceny from a building.

Police arrested Burke, who was doing construction at the officer's home, after he allegedly stole a revolver belonging to the officer. Burke also allegedly stole the officer's badge and identification.

The revolver, which was unable to be fired because it had a trigger lock, was later recovered with the other items, according to police. 

Police declined to specify where in Waltham the incident occurred.
