Dedham Bank Robbery Suspect Caught By Police

Dover man charged with Dedham bank robbery.

Police have arrested a Dover man who they believe robbed the Citizen’s Bank in Dedham while possibly wearing a wig earlier this month.

Police took Leonard E. Burd, 43 of Dover into custody on Tuesday without incident, according to Dedham Police officer Bobby Nedder Jr.

Burd was charged with crimes related to his participation in a Citizen’s Bank robbery in Natick in September along with the robbery at the Citizen’s Bank on Providence Highway earlier this month, according to a police statement.

Burd allegedly entered the Citizens Bank located at the Stop & Shop on Providence Highway on Oct. 18 and passed a note to a teller requesting money, according to a police report.  He was believed to have been wearing a wig during the robbery, according to police. 

The investigation was conducted by the Dedham Police, Natick Police, FBI Bank Robbery/Violent Crime Task Force, and in collaboration with other detectives from Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force.
