Attorney Catherine C. Byrne has been nominated to a position on the District Court her hearing will be October 31, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Both attorneys Crane and Caulo donated to Governor Patrick, there does not appear to be a giving history for attorney Catherine C. Byrne.

Both attorneys Caulo and Byrne are public sector employees.  Attorney Caulo works for the Suffolk County Sheriff, Attorney Byrne works for the Federal Government as a public defender.  Attorney Crane was formerly a member of the Patrick Administration.

The Council also questioned whether there would be another vote on the Michael McCarthy nomination.  The nomination of Attorney McCarthy was stalled two weeks ago on a vote of 3-3, Lt. Governor Murray was not present to break the tie.

Attorney McCarthy’s nomination appeared to face problems when during his hearing he stated that he would do what he could to assist inexperienced prosecutors if they made an error in a case.  He also appeared confused about the standard of proof required for the issuance of a 209a restraining order.

A complete audio recording of his hearing may be found at patrickmccabegovernorscouncil.com.
