Letter to the Editor: Public Letter of Thanks for Holiday Harvest Telethon

The Dedham Food Pantry would like to thank those who helped with this year's Holiday Harvest Telethon.

Dear Editor,

The Dedham Food Pantry wants to thank Dedham TV for a very successful Holiday Harvest Telethon on Nov. 29.

Special thanks to Donna Greer, Executive Director of the station and her staff, including Kevin Loughran and Dennis Sullivan, as well as special assistants Gabe and Lilly Straight. We were lucky to have the enthusiastic and professional leadership of Lorraine Morandi, Greg Agnew, Jack Moran, Lisa Moran, Brian Keaney, and Steve Straight and of course we had the joyful Rob Blaney as Santa. We are grateful to the many performers who shared their time and talents for the event.

We also want to thank the community of people and organizations near and far who responded with generous pledges including but not limited to the following : iParty, Coldwell Banker, Endeavor Capital, Superior Plumbing, Francis Walley Insurance, MJ Ambrose Enterprises, Roscia’s Plumbing and Heating, Schortmann Insurance, Wall, Wall and Gruenberg, Wardle Drug, Attorneys Winbourne, Hampe and Sheehan, Devaney Energy, Woodard and Curran, Dedham Savings, The Committee to Elect Paul McMurtry, Michael McKenna Electric, Law Office of Michael Podolski, The Dedham Police Department, Dedham Rotary, Fellowship Bible Church, St Luke’s Lutheran Church, Dedham High Class of ’87, Contentment Corner Child Care, American Legion Riders, Chapter 18, Vogt Realty Group, Dedham Square Artist Guild, Kings, East Dedham Lock and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

The following night, the generous folks at Nest, Inc. hosted a book signing by local author William Martin with proceeds coming to the pantry.

The money raised from these events will go directly to the purchase of food for Dedham families, our neighbors. Currently there are over 370 families who rely on the pantry for assistance. Or motto is “Neighbors helping neighbors,” and the team at Dedham TV, sponsors and donors, and performers have demonstrated just that. I would also like to thank all our telethon committee and the trustees for their generous support year round.

The Dedham Food Pantry has been working to meet the one of the most basic of human needs for just over 20 years. Staffed only by volunteers, we rely on the charitable support of individuals and organizations in and around Dedham and beyond. On behalf of our clients and trustees, I want to extend our deepest thanks to the Dedham TV and those who responded with very generous support. The telethon will be aired throughout the coming weeks on your local Dedham TV channel. To learn more, check out www.DedhamTV.org.

Sincerely,

Lindsay Barich
President, Dedham Food Pantry
