Letter to the Editor: Dedham Food Pantry Thanks Contributors for 'Ride for Food'

Three Squares New England along with other organizations assisted the Dedham Food Pantry in organizing the First Annual Ride for Food.

Dear Editor,

The Dedham Food Pantry wants to thank the organization, Three Squares New England, for a very successful First Annual Ride for Food. Founded by Greg Jundanian, George Nicholson, Heather Dawood, David Jennings, and Thilo Vollrath, Three Squares New England aims to raise funds for local food pantries.

As its first recipient, Three Squares selected The Dedham Food Pantry. How fortunate for the pantry!

The money raised will go directly to the purchase of food for Dedham families, our neighbors. Currently there are 250 families who rely on the pantry for assistance. Or motto is “Neighbors helping neighbors,” and the team at Three Square New England has demonstrated just that.

Other neighbors, near and far, with generous support include the 64 riders who peddled with generosity, Budd’s Bike Works, Dedham Savings, Tex’s BBQ Express, Whole Foods Market, Dedham Bike, Amy and Brian Naturals, Boston Bicycle Messengers Association, Isabella’s, Stonybrook Fine Arts, Diablo Glass, Andrew Janjigian, Blue Hills Brewery, Home Depot, JP Licks, McGolf, Eric McInerney, Local Motion, Spring Street Café, Tri Zen Massage, and Vello’s.

A  big thank you goes to the Endicott Estate for hosting the riders and the barbecue.

The Dedham Food Pantry has been working to meet the one of the most basic of human needs for just over 20 years. Staffed only by volunteers, we rely on the charitable support of individuals and organizations in and around Dedham and beyond. On behalf of our clients and trustees, I want to extend our deepest thanks to the Three Squares New England Team and all of its partners.

Sincerely,

Lindsay Barich

President, Dedham Food Pantry
