There are plenty of ways to have fun this weekend - and help a slew of great causes.

 

It's Thursday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Dedham Patch is coming to the rescue.


  1. Where/When: It's a secret. No, seriously.
    Why go: Help support the Dedham Public Library in its quest to add laptops and e-readers to its inventory. Tickets for this 1920s Prohibition-themed event are available at or through email.

  • Where/When: at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
    Why go: Get ready for laughter (yes, it's adults-only), and plenty of chances to win great prizes from local businesses. Auction items include a signed Wes Welker jersey and a signed Kevin Youkilis baseball.

  • Where/When: on Sunday at 12 p.m.
    Why go: Listen to some of the most talented musical acts in Dedham perform and raise money for the Dedham School of Music. Acts range from the Dedham Elementary School Honor Band to jazz musician - and barber - Lou Biscegia.

  • Where/When: with shows on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
    Why go: This family-friendly show will be put on by the Parish Players of the First Church. Come and enjoy this classic Dr. Suess play!

  • Where/When: Dedham Community Theatre on Saturday at 9 a.m.
    Why go: A classic Disney movie about a lovable bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Woods will be screened starting at 9:30 a.m. So bring the family down for this great start to the weekend.
