Peter J. Elefterakis, Dedham Native and Former Sharon H.S. Teacher, Dies from Cancer

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10 at First Church and Parish, 670 High St. in Dedham.

 

Peter J. Elefterakis of Dedham, passed away on Jan. 11, 2013 from cancer.

He is the beloved husband of Kathryn B. (Boyce) Elefterakis, devoted father to Anne Elefterakis of San Francisco, CA.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Aaron Boynton, brother James Elefterakis of S. Hadley, MA, sister Maria Butler of Russell, MA, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Peter was a graduate of Westfield High class of 1955, Clark University class of 1959 and Springfield College.

He taught Social Studies at Sharon High School in Sharon, MA for 33 years before retiring in 1999.

Peter was a volunteer with Amnesty International, Talking Information Center and First Church in Dedham. He was for many years a conferee at Star Island, Isles of Shoals, NH.

Peter will be remembered for his warmth, friendly spirit and interest in the world around him.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10 at First Church and Parish, 670 High St. in Dedham.
