Paul Edward Hanlon, Dedham Native, Dies at 70

Visitation with Paul's family will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick Street, Norwood, MA followed by a funeral service in the Church at 10 a.m.

 

Paul Edward Hanlon, a resident of Readville for 45 years, and formerly of Dedham, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.  He was 70. 

Paul was born June 1, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of  Thomas F. and Anna J. (MacDonald) Hanlon.  He attended Boston Trade High School and Dedham High School and spent a year studying at Newport War College.

Paul served in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1960 to 1963.  He worked as a Postal Supervisor at the South Boston Postal Annex.  Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Sarkes); his son, James P. Hanlon of Sharon; his daughter, Allyson M. (Gundal) of Westwood; his five grandchildren, Paul J. Hanlon, Samuel C. Hanlon, Paige C. Hanlon, Ava B. Gundal, and Joseph K. Gundal; three brothers, Ronald Hanlon of Northport, Florida, Joseph Hanlon of Rockland, Massachustts, and Mark Hanlon; and three sisters, Patricia Dean of Cheshire, Connecticut, Nancy Lyons of Brighton, and Susan Borek of New Hampshire. 

He was the brother of the late Thomas F. Hanlon, Jr. and the late Carl Hanlon.

Visitation with Paul’s family will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 9 to 10 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick Street, Norwood, MA followed by a funeral service in the Church at 10 o clock. 

Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45250 or to the SMA fathers, 337 Common Street, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
