Lydia Skope: Longtime Dedham Resident, Dorchester Native

Services will be held Wednesday and Thursday in Mansfield.

Lydia F. (Kapust) Skope, 84, of Dedham and formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, according to her obituary

Having made her home in Dedham for more than 60 years, she was born in Boston and grew up on Dorchester. She worked as an office manager at the Northeast Gun Supply and later at Decelle's in West Roxbury. Her interests included gardening, reading, knitting and needle work. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 10 a.m. at the Sherman and Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St. in Mansfield, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. in Mansfield. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 21 from 5-8 p.m. at the Sherman and Jackson Funeral Home.
