Dorothy Bernstein, Dedham Native, Dies at 92

Dorothy Bernstein of Dedham, formerly of Brookline, passed away after a short illness on Jan. 28. She was 92-years-old.

She is the beloved sister of the late Selma Rosen, cherished aunt of Richard A. Rosen and his wife Jo-Ann of Needham and the late Gail A. Rios. Loving great aunt of Andrea E. Rosen of Jamaica Plain, Benjamin J. Rosen and his wife Michele of Natick, and Dr. Clifford G. Rios and his wife Vanessa of CT, great, great aunt of Nathan John Rosen.

Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing, then served as a First Lieutenant in the Army during WWII in Europe. She earned a BS in Nursing degree in 1953 and a MS in Nursing degree in 1972 both at Boston University.

She was employed her entire nursing career at the former Beth Israel and New England Deaconess Hospitals. A private graveside service was held on January 30 at Sharon Memorial Park.
