Home Staging-Creating Visual Units

Home staging-Creating Visual Units

When I am guiding my Sellers on how to best prepare their homes for sale, I often talk with them about creating visual units. Sometimes Sellers have pictures randomly placed throughout a room with no regard to scale or "grounding pictures" to a piece of furniture. This can make the room looked cluttered in pictures as well as real life.

A simple rule to follow is to place pictures (mirrors, etc.) over a piece of furniture or perhaps a mantle.  Then you can embellish the furniture or mantle with some decorative items that create a vignette or as I call it, visual unit.

By placing a few strategic visual units throughout the room, you are allowing the Buyer to see the room in a better light. And the MLS pictures will look great!
