Britney Spears Shows Off 3-Carat Engagement Ring

The blogesphere lit up this weekend with the news that pop legend Britney Spears was engaged to her boyfriend of three years and former manager, Jason Trawick. The couple showed off Spears’ 3-carat diamond engagement ring during a double celebration at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood, where the pair also partied to mark Trawick’s 40th birthday.

“Tonight was one of the most magical nights of my life,” the 30-year-old Spears tweeted. “Such an amazing time with my new fiancé and our closest friends and family. 

While in Vegas, Spears and Trawick seemed to keep their distance from the Palms Casino Hotel (just 2 miles away), where Spears stayed in January 2004 after marrying childhood friend Jason Alexander at the Little White Chapel. That marriage was annulled after just 55 hours. Later that same year, she was engaged to dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children. The marriage lasted two years.

The engagement ring Spears received from Trawick features a round stone and diamond-pavé band. Although a 3-carat ring is impressive by most standards, it pales in comparison to the awe-inspiring bling sported by some of Spears’ contemporaries.
