Whether you're a youngster in the hunt for troves of candy, or a grown-up ... doing the same exact thing - there is plenty of times to enjoy the Halloween festivities in Dedham.

1. Bedtime Halloween Party
   Where/When: in Dedham Square; Friday at 6:30 p.m.
   Why go: Bring your kids decked out in their Halloween costume and listen to some "not-so-spooky stories." In the giving mood? Bring some candy to donate to area homeless shelters. Kids will be making goodie bags and friendly monsters to take home.

2. Halloween Movie Night
   Where/When: ; Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
   Why go: Wear your costume to watch a Creature Double Feature Halloween movie - Frankenweenie and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Enjoy refreshments while taking in the flicks.

   Why go: What better way to get into the Halloween spirit than dancing to Michael Jackson with who-knows-how-many people. The first 75 guests receive a free T-shirt.

   Where/When: McDonald Square at Louise Road; Sunday at 1 p.m.
   Why go: Join the annual Manor Neighborhood Block Party full with fun for kids of all ages, a Halloween costume contest, candy, food and more.

6. Spooky-Oke
   Where/When: ; Friday at 9 p.m.
   Why go: Putting an eerie twist on classic karaoke as guests belt out their favorite Monster jams. Come in dressed for the holiday and prizes will be given for best performance.

   Why go: Watch a scary defense take on a scary offense. Wear your NFL "costume" for a free cheese piza with mention of seeing this on Patch*.
