Dancing with the Dedham Stars is Back

Here is this year's cast of 2012 "Dancing with the Dedham Stars.

Well, here we go again folks. The organizers of this year's Dancing with the Dedham Stars is proud to announce who will be a part of the “cast.”

For the fifth consecutive year,  DWTDS and the D.E.P. is sponsoring this event, with yet another prolific group of Dedham “celebrities” - each teaming up with a professional dance partner.

Last year's event sold out (over 700 people) in less than an hour, and with this year's crew, Dimitria Sullivan is expecting more of the same.

The annual dance-off, held at Moseley's on the Charles, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Money raised (over $25,000 last year) will be donated to the Dedham Public School System.

Sullivan explained that “this money is able to fill a void for our schools… we have been able to get textbooks, calculators, and other items that we might not have been able to afford otherwise.”

This year's “Dedham Stars” include: Dan Maher, Anthony Jeannetti, Korrin Slavin, Andrew Patterson, Marcella Musto and Laura Kelleher. The dancers and their partners will spend the next 10 weeks rehearsing their routines for the crowd.

Somehow, if you've never heard of or been able to attend this contest yourself, we have one quote that just about sums it all up. “Being at Dancing with the Dedham Stars will keep you entertained. It is a combination of attending a high school dance or family reunion, or like being in the audience of a reality TV show…”

Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of this worthy cause.

Tickets for the 2012 Dancing with the Dedham Stars go on sale Saturday, Oct. 20, and can be purchased at Paradise Café, 565 High St. in Dedham for $25
