A Full-of-Energy Dog Makes the Best Family Pet

Adopt Spike at the Animal Rescue League of Boston's Dedham shelter.

Spike is a 5-year-old boy full of playful energy available for adoption at the . His is a small, mixed-breed dog with a soft coat and weighs 18 pounds.

He enjoys meeting new people and seems to get along well with children. He absolutely loves toys and is highly entertaining to watch and play with.

He will require training for basic commands and may need some work on house training. He is a smart little guy and with some motivation he will pick up commands in no time.

Spike should not live with other dogs or cats and would not be a candidate for a dog park. He does have some dog aggression that we are still exploring. He would be happy in a home as the only pet and with a family to give him the love, attention, and exercise he needs.

He would probably make a good agility dog, which would be a good family activity to do with him. If you have a fenced-in yard he would love to play fetch with a ball or even a Frisbee.

Spike is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and healthy. If you are interested in adopting Spike,
