5 Things to Do This Weekend: May 18-20

From supporting local artists to supporting children with Cystic Fibrosis, there are many ways to help out the community this weekend.

 

It's Thursday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Dedham Patch is coming to the rescue.

  1. Where/When: Informational booth at , artists located throughout Dedham; Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Why go: With 21 locations in Dedham, 100 artists will showcase their work to the public in mediums ranging from photography to textiles, from recycled glass jewelry to glass mosaic. It's a chance to get a taste of the rich artist presence in the Dedham area.
    Price: Free; Associated cultural events may assess a fee.

    Where/When: (near the greenhouse) on Sunday at 11 a.m. 
    Why go: Celebrate the 17th annual Great Strides walk that raises money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The 4.2-mile walk will begin and end at the Endicott Estate. Following the walk, there will have a giant BBQ provided by ChuckWagon Catering, music and entertainment by Pat Lally/ South Shore Entertainment, a giant raffle and different kids activities through out the day.

  • Exotic Marigold Hotel
    Where/When: with showtimes all weekend
    Why go: This charming comedy features Judi Dench, and tells what happens when a group of senior citizens let go of their pasts and leave their comfort zones for a very different home.
    Price: $9.50

    Where/When:  with showtimes all weekend
    Why go: Catch a performance of this Broadway hit right in your backyard. Nobles students will perform several times during the weekend and into next week. 
    Price: $15

    Where/When: Saint Susanna on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
    Why go: Enjoy live jazz and choice wines, feast on delicious hors d’oeuvres, cheeses, and desserts, and bid on spectacular one-of-a-kind items for silent and live auction.
    Price: $25
