On the Road Again.....Well Almost!
Packing for a road trip used to be easier when they were babies!
As the school year comes to a close, everyone is anxious for their summer plans. Our family enjoys vacations just like everyone else. We love our annual road trips which take us to "the land of glory"...that,of course, is to the great American baseball parks. We will be visiting three more parks in the next two weeks. But before we get there, one has to pack first.....oh, and that could be an adventure in itself.
I think it was so much easier to back for a baby - even with the car seat, pack & play, diaper bags, bottles, toys, bib, extra clothes, etc....Now - with a 14 & 10 year old, every one has an opinion on what they want to wear..."Can I wear my Yankees shirt? (Are you really our son?), "My crocs don't fit" (there are stores in other cities too!), etc. Our trip is a rather detailed one. We will be staying at seven hotels and one friend's house during the course of the 16 day adventure. We are on the move alot so we pack this suitcase for Town A, that one for Town B. Oh, and don't forget we need to bring: 3 cellphones, 3 ipods, portable dvd player (do we really need 14 movies?), GPS, 2 cameras, video camera, XBOX (6 games), 2 Nintendos (XL and regular - and 8 games) and all of the chargers that go with them, summer reading books (I'm the mean Mom), baseball cards, baseballs, & baseball cases for all of the signed balls they hope to get........Wait - is there room in the car for any clothes??
This adventure has a bit of a twist this time. I have some work items that had to be attended to before I left this time so I am flying to meet my husband & boys in GA on Tuesday. If all of the items that we packed are still in the car with them, I will be so proud of them. My fingers are crossed....."On the Road again, I just can't wait to get on the road again......."
