I wanted to clear the air on my opinion of the square and Chime in on the Holiday Stroll

Hi All, I haven't written in a while, but I needed to write about the Holiday Stroll. I was really impressed by this event. The town did a terrific job. I know some people see me as public enemy number one when it comes to the square. I want to clear the air first. My issues with the square were never with the need for the face lift, I love it, my issue was the traffic caused by the sidewalks being enlarged and the light at Eastern Ave which I still feel strongly about, but overall I do like the square. I furthered my square issues by commenting on a commercial that I was under the impression was the only commercial and I was quick to judge this thing because two of the oldest businesses the Dedham Flower Shoppe and Centre Deli were not featured. I made some comments I regret as I was told there would be a series of commercials and I was led to believe this was the only one. In future commercials those businesses will be included and I was happy because these folks that own these businesses are like family to me. I've known them for nearly my whole life. So for anyone who was offended my profound apologies.
OK onto the Stroll, Although I've only met Paul Reynolds a hand full of times and never met Peter. I admire there creativity and their business savvy and I thought they did a terrific job emceeing the event during the tree lighting ceremony. There was a band playing carols and carolers in 18th century wardrobe singing carols and walking around the event. They were terrific. We had Frosty, we had Santa, what more could you want?
There was also a tree Raffle in the Dedham Community Theatre. This was a lot of fun. I lucked out as a Tree was re-raffled because the winner only wanted the items under the tree. This was a Red Sox themed tree and this little boy named Jason was really sad when he didn't win so I decided I needed to give this tree to him and I did.
This is one of the better events I've attended in town. It was well done and I'm glad I got to take part this year.
