Oakdale Elementary School Vendor Night this Friday Nov. 8th

American Legion Post hosts Oakdale Elementary "Vendor Night" - Friday Nov. 8th - from 6-10pm !

Being President of your local Elementary School PTO is no easy job, especially when your school is the largest in the district. Your decisions can impact the "experience" of so many individuals. Gone are the days of planning a simple bake sale, or putting out a few pencils and erasers to sell to raise money.

As we all know, school "expenditures" across the country are being trimmed. Parent-Teacher Organizations have become even more important to raise funds for enrichment programs, field trips, and even supplies that will help enhance our children`s learning experiences.

Presidents of these groups, are required to fulfill a number of important responsibilities, all while balancing the interests of parents, students, principals, and teachers. As a liaison, a PTO President is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and completing successful events.

Here in Dedham, Kim Lynch is President of the 300 plus students/parents at the Oakdale Elementary School. Mrs. Lynch is well aware that the success of school "fundraisers" depends on getting people involved.

This weekend - Friday, Nov. 8th, from 6-10pm - the American Legion Post at 155 Eastern Ave. in Dedham, will host the First Annual Oakdale Elementary "Vendor Night." After months of planning, Kim has lined up over 30 vendors, including: local jewelers, artists and crafters, along with items from Tupperware, Avon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Stella & Dot, Wild Tree Herbs, Arbonne, Pink Zebra, Tastefully Simple, Discovery Toys, Silpada, and many, many others.

She has planned this shopping event, to raise needed funds for the Oakdale Elementary School. There will be a cash bar, raffles, and silent auctions to accompany the vendor tables. In addition, DMS Music/Band Instructor, Jeff Daniels, plans on having a "gift wrapping" booth at the affair, to help parents secure that special present and to raise money for the Dedham Middle School Band.

So don`t miss out on your chance to pick up some wonderful items, have them wrapped and enjoy a night out with friends. That`s Friday, November 8th, from 6-10pm.
